Call for Applications: 2026-2027 TCEP Board of Directors

Shape the future of emergency medicine in Texas by applying to serve in a crucial role on TCEP's Board of Directors. TCEP is accepting applications for the 2026 - 2027 Board of Directors.

Applications are being accepted for the following positions:

  • Four (4) Regular Board positions. Candidates must be Active, Life, or Honorary (former Active) members of TCEP, in good standing throughout the three-year term of office.
  • Young Physician. Candidates must be active TCEP members, under 40 years of age, or in the active practice of Emergency Medicine for 10 years of less. One-year term.
  • Resident. Candidates must be in good standing in an accredited Texas Emergency Medicine Residency Program. One-year term.
  • Medical Student. Candidates must be in good standing in an accredited Texas Medical School. In addition, they must be active in their local Emergency Medicine Interest Group. One-year term (non-voting).

In addition, we are looking for individuals interested in serving as Councillors/Alternate Councillors at ACEP's 2026 Council Meeting in October.

  • Councillors/Alternate Councillors are responsible for voicing the concerns of the Texas chapter on the floor of the council meeting and in reference committees. In addition, Councillors can express the will of the Texas chapter by the execution of their votes for or against resolutions and electing the president-elect, Board members, and Council officers at the annual meeting. ACEP's 2026 Council Meeting will take place October 3 - 4, 2026 in Chicago, IL.
To be eligible to serve as a Councillor, you must have served 2 years as a Councillor or Alt. Councillor. Travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual. To learn more about councillor/alt. councillor responsibilities, click here.

 

Please review the duties and responsibilities of board members closely before submitting your online application. 

Application Requirements:

  1. Completed online application form, submitted by January 14, 2026. Application must include:
    1. Current curriculum vitae (CV); and,
    2. Current headshot (for publication TCEP's EMphasis newsletter.)

Director Qualifications:

  • Required:
    • Must be a member in good standing.
  • Preferred:
    • Membership in TCEP for at least two (2) years.
    • Active participation in a TCEP committee or involvement TLAF fellowship program.
    • Attendance at TCEP CONNECT Annual Conference and Business Meeting in the previous year.
    • Previous leadership experience in state chapter (for members with less than two (2) years in TCEP).  

Board Responsibilities:

  • Active participation at the TCEP's CONNECT conference 
  • In-person attendance at quarterly Board of Directors meetings (July; September; January; April)
    • Medical Student Representative to attend at least half the board meetings in-person.
  • Encouraged attendance at:
    • ACEP Council Meeting/Scientific Assembly (October 3 - 4, 2026 in Chicago, IL), and
    • ACEP Leadership and Advocacy Conference in Washington, DC (spring 2027).
  • Travel expenses are not reimbursed.

Important deadlines and dates:

  • January 14, 2026 - Deadline to apply for TCEP Board of Directors.
  • April 11, 2026 - Elections will take place at TCEP's Annual Business Meeting, held in conjunction with CONNECT 2026 Annual Conference in Rockwall, TX.
