TCEP MSC invites you to our next virtual journal club "EMinds Unwind" on December 3, 2025 from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.!

We're thrilled to bring this opportunity to the MSC and welcome our residency guest presenter, Dr. Ryan Johnson, presenting the article - Nitroglycerin Dosing for Acute Pulmonary Edema.

Open to all medical students, this event is a fantastic chance to learn, network, and discuss all things EM and EM residency - all in just one hour! Don't miss it! 

About EMinds Unwind

The TCEP Medical Student Committee (TCEP-MSC) hosts a state-wide, virtual monthly journal club called “EMinds Unwind.” This informal, hour-long event will give students the opportunity to discuss journal articles, engage with academic EM, and network with residency programs.

Each month, a different academic paper will be discussed, keeping the content easy and palatable to understand for all medical school years/grades. Sessions are run by educators in Texas (residents, attendin etc) and help prepare students for article presentations and journal clubs as part of away rotations and acting internships.

The discussions aim to be relaxed and fun to encourage students to engage with each other and peers. See an example session timeline below:

• Introductions (5 minutes)
• Journal presentation (slide deck) (15-20 minutes)
• Article discussion (open floor) (10-15 minutes)
• Wrap/up and other questions (10-15 minutes)
• Talk about the specialty, residency, or anything in general
