ADVOCACYWe are the future voice of Emergency Medicine in Texas. As the medical student committee, we have direct access to TCEP leadership and state legislators. Visit the TCEP advocacy page to learn how TCEP is making an impact at the state level. Also, keep an eye out for Capitol visits and listening sessions happening throughout the year. EMPHASIS NEWSLETTERTCEP's bi-monthly e-newsletter includes a section for medical students to submit an article, publication, case write-up, or op-ed. HOLD AN MSC OFFICER POSITIONOfficer positions are available to current TCEP members at an accredited Texas medical school. Applications open in the new year with elections held in March. Position terms are one year in length. The Chair position term is two years - 1 year as Chair and the following year as Chair Emeritus. Please reach out to [email protected] for more information. Lone Star SurvivalLone Star Survival is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that teaches basic bleeding control methods via short, free, and interactive lessons in public, high-foot-traffic areas. Our lessons are completely free with absolutely no cost to the participants or venues. Each lesson runs between 5 to 10 minutes and we are conveniently set up around malls, museums, football games, colleges, and many other popular venues.
