COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS
Being a new residency graduate serving in the US Air Force in Fort Worth, I quickly looked for the local emergency medicine organization, with a little trepidation, as I was one of a few osteopathic physicians in the northern Texas area practicing emergency medicine. As I connected with the Texas chapter, I was very pleased to be accepted as an equal, and more importantly as a qualified emergency physician. I have always considered ACEP as the home of emergency medicine that welcomed all qualified, interested physicians into our fold. I am proud to have been an integral part of that new and growing specialty and hopefully, in at least a small way, played a small part of helping TxACEP develop into this vibrant organization now called TCEP.
