COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS
My experience in a leadership position within TCEP has been wonderful, enlightening, invigorating, and challenging. I cherish the memories, the colleagues with whom I interacted, the friends I have developed and the relationships I have built. There was no greater honor than to be recognized by my peers and handed the reins to lead the Chapter. Representing TCEP as a member of the Board of Directors and eventually as President was an experience that I will never forget. It was clearly one of the highlights of my life and my professional career which I still have trouble believing could happen to a farmer's son from West Texas. TCEP could never have achieved it's status as a recognized leader in our national organization without the vision and the dedicated efforts of the outstanding individuals who founded our organization; those icons of TCEP who many years ago had a vision, built the infrastructure, knocked down the barriers and blazed the trail for us. I hope we have done them justice. I personally could never have achieved my goals as President without the dedication and hard work of my colleagues on the Board of Directors, the various Committees and the executive staff which I had the honor of leading and representing during my years in that role. Looking ahead, I continue to see a bright future for TCEP as I witness the amazing talent, energy and dedication of the current TCEP leadership. I have no doubt that they will continue to carry our torch brightly. I am proud and honored to have been a small part of this fabulous organization. I hope that I left it in a better place.
