COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS
I am extremely humbled, grateful, and honored to be a past president of TCEP. I can't explain how many amazing people I have met just by becoming involved in this valuable organization. It challenges us all to fight for our specialty, and the people who meet along the way make all the difference. It was difficult sometimes but wonderful just as often. We enjoyed bringing the Ol"EM"pics to life for a few years. It like all of our accomplishments was a total team effort. We were saddened as we honored our dead after Covid's first and second wave. I would not be the man I am without my TCEP experiences. I made mistakes and learned. I would encourage all of those out there to come in and really get involved. It seems intimidating when you read the critics on websites and email threads, but as Teddy Roosevelt said, "It’s not the critic who counts... with those cold and timid souls," so jump on in "the arena" with those other courageous people that I will always call friend.
