EMinds Unwind

The TCEP Medical Student Committee (TCEP-MSC) is excited to host a state-wide, virtual monthly journal club called “EMinds Unwind.” This informal, hour-long event will give students the opportunity to discuss journal articles, engage with academic EM, and network with residency programs.

GOALS:

  • Discuss an academic paper with Texas medical students with an interest in EM.
  • Keep content easy/palatable to understand for all medical school years/grades.
  • Have sessions run by educators in Texas (i.e. med ed fellow, resident, attending etc).
  • Network, learn, and have fun discussing EM related articles.
  • Introduce and prepare students for article presentations and journal clubs for away rotations/acting internships.

FORMAT:

  • INFORMAL and fun journal club…BYO mocktail/cocktail.
  • Led by an educator (i.e. med ed fellow, resident, attending etc).
    • Facilitators are encouraged to re-use an article/slide deck from a previous presentation, so they do not need to spend a ton of time preparing.
