TCEP Leadership and Advocacy Fellowship (TLAF) Program

About TLAF

TCEP's Leadership and Advocacy Fellowship (TLAF) is a year-long professional development program designed to prepare the next generation of leaders in emergency medicine. Through mentorship, hands-on leadership experiences, and advocacy training, fellows gain a deeper understanding of organized medicine while developing the skills needed to advocate the specialty and serve their patients.

Throughout the program, fellows participate in TCEP governance as ex-officio members of the Board of Directors, represent Texas emergency physicians as ACEP Alternate Councillors, contribute to TCEP initiatives and publications, and complete a leadership project aligned with their interests. The fellowship also provides opportunities to attend key state and national meetings, interact with physician leaders from across Texas and the country, and build a strong professional network.

TLAF equips participants with knowledge, experience, and relationships needed to become effective advocates for emergency medicine and positions them for future leadership roles within TCEP, ACEP, and the specialty. The program also serves as a valuable foundation for physicians pursuing the ACEP Fellowship (FACEP) designation. 

Applications for the next TLAF class will open in March 2027.
