Assistant Medical Director
Young Physician Board Member
2. Tell us about your involvement in TCEP.
I have been a TCEP member since the start of my residency in 2012. My early involvement in TCEP inspired me to get involved with organized medicine, I was board member with EMRA and worked closely with TCEP to enhance the medical student and resident experience during the TCEP annual assembly. Currently serve on the board of directors as a young physician member.
3. Convey to us your goals as a Director and what you see as the pressing issues facing Emergency Physicians in the next three years.
I would covet the opportunity to stay on the board to continue the work started in my year as the young physician member. I believe the board has done a great job identifying strategic priorities for our college. Of these, some of the most pressing issues are those that we can influence through advocacy, which I believe, is one of the strengths of our college. These include supporting fair payment for emergency services, protecting and promoting independent free standing emergency centers and continuing to preserve our tort reform achievements.
4. Please provide a brief description of family, community and professional activities, and hobbies.
I have been married to my high school sweetheart Jennifer for 8 ½ years. We are both avid fans of the Texas Rangers. I have a particular interest in public speaking/teaching. In my spare time I enjoy playing golf, basketball and tennis.
