LOCATION: The Amon G. Carter Medical Simulation Training Center, Fort Worth, Texas
REGISTRATION FEE: $715 (TCEP/ACEP Members); $775 (non-members)

This course is an interactive, learner-driven course utilizing task trainers and high-fidelity simulation for the purpose of teaching and practicing high-risk, low-frequency procedures performed by emergency physicians. The Amon G. Carter Medical Simulation Training Center is a brand new, state-of-the-art simulation center that has four simulation rooms - an ambulance, an ED resuscitation room, an operating room, and an intensive care unit. Participants will rotate through different stations including Airway, Circulation/trauma, OB/Pediatric and Ultrasound/Imaging.


The ABCD (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Delivery) Simulation Procedure Course Agenda

4 Groups total, 20 Students

8:00 - 8:30 am      Breakfast and Director Welcome
8:30 - 10:30 am      Airway and Breathing (30 minutes each)
Adult Direct/Glidescope/Intubating LMA/Bougie - Cricothyrotomy
Pediatric intubation LMA, DL, Gidescope, Needle Cric
Tube Thoracostomy
10:30 - 10:45 am      Break
10:45 - 11:45 am      Diffcult Airway / Pediatric-Resuscitation
Two 30-Minute Simulations
11:45 am - 12:30      Lunch
12:30 - 2:30 pm      Circulation (30 minutes each)
Transvenous Pacer
OB Ultrasound
Central Lines
Normal, Shoulder dystocia, Breech Delivery
2:30 -3:30 pm      Circulation / Neonatal Resuscitation
Two 30-Minute Simulations
2 Rooms Neonatal Resuscitation Simulation and Review
2 Teams Doing FAST Exams
3:30 - 3:45 pm      Wrap-Up

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the joint providership of the American College of Emergency Physicians and Texas Chapter.

The American College of Emergency Physicians is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
