We're looking for members to serve on 2024–2025 committees and task forces! ALL TCEP members are eligible to participate. Non-members interested in volunteering are welcome to join TCEP/ACEP by filling out the online membership application.

CONNECT Planning Committee

  • Goals: Deliver up-to-date and thorough continuing medical education initiatives tailored for emergency physicians across Texas.
  • Time Involvement: Engage in 4-6 virtual meetings annually.  

Finance Committee

  • Goals: Supervise the financial management of TCEP's accounts and records, ensuring scrutiny of the association's internal financial controls and protocols.
  • Time Commitment: Engage in 4-6 virtual meetings per year.

Legislative Advocacy Council

  • Goals: Oversee legislative and policy matters pertinent to medical practice, providing policy suggestions to the board. Educate members on state legislation and policy concerns; engage with legislators when necessary to champion patients and the medical field.
  • Time Commitment: Participate in 10+ virtual meetings annually; occasional in-person meetings might be necessary.

Medical Student Committee

  • Goals: The Medical Student Committee serves as a division of TCEP, led by medical students aspiring to specialize in Emergency Medicine. The MSC collaborates to link fellow medical students with opportunities and resources, enhancing their understanding of Emergency Medical topics, guiding them through the Residency Match process, and fostering their competitiveness as Emergency Medicine applicants. Sub-committees include Advocacy, Projects and Social Media.
  • Time Commitment: Varies depending on sub-committee.

Membership Committee

  • Goals: Cultivate the expansion and sustenance of TCEP membership while crafting initiatives and offerings to enrich the professional development of emergency physicians. Formulate strategies for member recruitment and retention.
  • Time Involvement: Convene for 3-5 virtual meetings annually.

Residency Visit Committee

  • Goals: Analyze the present program to pinpoint areas for enhancement, aiming to raise awareness statewide and bolster member recruitment efforts. Committee will also work to develop content and identify speakers.
  • Time Involvement: Engage in 4-6 virtual meetings per year.
