EPA physicians are Independent Contractors, who own their Accounts Receivables. EPA physicians work at all five Baptist Health System Emergency Departments, which prevents burnout, and allows opportunity for a variety of patient encounters. Double coverage is scheduled 12-16 hours per day at the four busiests emergency departments. Most shifts are less then 12 hours, with nights and weekends distributed fairly... no seniority system. The Good Shepherd Marshall campus is a 149-bed level III trauma center with an annual patient volume of 26,000.
